League Rules for Fall Season 2023-2024

Season will be 34 weeks plus Sweepers for a total of 35 weeks bowled. Beginning Tuesday September 5th, 2023. Sweepers will be on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024.

Lineage: $14.00 Prize Fund: $ 13.00 for a total fee of $27.00 per week of bowling.

Sponsor Fee: $200 per team ($50.00 per bowler)

Secretary Fee: $20 per bowler

BVL: $3 per bower

League is to be paid off by week 32

Sanctioned League: YES ($25.00 paid to GEUSBC)

Handicap: 90 % of 230.

Averages: Book averages used for first 9 games. If no Book average, establish first night.

Highest 2021-2022 book

This league will utilize the “10 Pin Drop” Rule.

Vacancy Score: 150 for both men and women.

Legal line-up: 2 regular bowlers from roster.

Alternates: Yes – 2 Alternates allowed (Can only bowl for one team for the season. You can list an alternate on your team roster at any time. Cannot have ever bowled as a sub to be listed as an alternate.

Substitutions: Yes (Once you have bowled at least 1 game as a sub you cannot ever be listed as an alternate)

Position Rounds/Roll Off/Sweepers: Alternates can bowl Position Rounds/Roll Off/Sweepers with at least 21 games or more. Subs are not allowed to bowl Position Rounds/Roll Off/Sweepers.

Absentee (Blind) score: Average minus 10 pins. To use a blind score the bowler must have bowled at least 1 week already.

Split Season: This League will bowl a SPLIT season, 17-week rounds.

Position Weeks: (2) Week 17 & Week 34

Roll Off: Top (3) teams from each split to make the End-of-Season Roll off. There will also will be a wild card team to make the roll off; that will consist of the team with the highest total points for the season that did not make the top (3) teams of each split. The roll off will be “beat half the field” 6 teams to 4 to top 2 for the title. In case of a tie, will be a 9th and 10th frame roll off . Top seed team (highest total wins for the season) has a bye the first round. 1st round – Top 5 teams and wildcard team. 2nd round – Top 3 teams w/top seed team. 3rd round for title – Top 2 teams.

*Roll off of top (7) teams. Final positions after being knocked out to be determined by total season points. If tie then will be based on total hdcp pins for the season.

Point system: Match Play Point system: 1 point for each bowler game won w/hdcp, 2 points for each team game won w/hdcp, 3 points for hdcp series won. Total points per night is 21 points total. When bowling a blind/vacant score, bowler needs to beat the blind/vacant score w/hdcp to win the match point. When there is a blind/vacant vs blind/vacant situation the points will automatically be split. End of league standings based on total points won for the season. First night - Team with higher team average will list their lineup up first. Rest of the season the team higher in the standings must list their lineup first. Per USBC rule 100e. In a match point league. Teams must change the lineup up on the score screen to match the lineup they have listed on their recap sheet.

Team Make up: (4) bowler line up.

Team Captains: Will be responsible for the collection of ALL fees from the team. Also, responsible to see that ALL members’ and subs are sanctioned the first night their scores are used.

Weekly fees: All bowlers pay weekly or pre-pay. If absent fees are to be brought up to date upon return. Upon signing up for a league, bowlers are responsible for paying each and every week. No individual bowler may be short more than (2) weeks at any time and or more than $54 dollars. Individuals short in excess of more than (2) weeks/and or over $54 dollars shall forfeit only their points until shortage caught up. Individuals short more than (4) weeks/and or $108 dollars shall cause the whole team to forfeit until shortage is caught up. If a bowler quits, he/she forfeits all monies, but is responsible to be caught up on any weeks behind, and give in a verbal or hand written notice to an officer of the league, and are responsible for monies TWO WEEKS beyond last date bowled, giving the league time to fill the spot. If a bowler is bowling a forfeiture due to money owed that bowler must bowl within 10 pins of their average to win their point. If a team is bowling a forfeiture due to money owed that team must bowl within 40 pins of team average to win the team game.

Pay sheet and money must be turned in AFTER the 3rd frame of the first game and BEFORE the beginning of the 2nd game. If not turned in on time, games may be forfeited.

NO Checks: No checks are to be written to the league during the last FIVE WEEKS of bowling. Checks are to be made out to C.V.M.C (Central Valley Masters Classic). A bounced check is subject to a $25 charge and your check writing privileges may be suspended.

Tardy bowlers: May enter a game and CATCH UP from the 1st frame, providing the opposing teams anchor bowler has not completed the third frame.

Bowling out: A bowler may bowl out of the game with permission of the opposing team captain.

Postponements: Will be allowed with 48 hours notice. In case of emergencies (24 hours or less), the BOARD OF DIRECTORS must grant postponements. Every attempt will be made to inform the opposing team prior to postponements. MATCHES MUST BE MADE UP WITHIN TWO (2) WEEKS OR BEFORE A POSITION ROUND, whichever comes first. Team Captains must arrange make up games or pre-bowl games with Bowlero and notify a league officer of the date and time. No pre bowling or post bowling a position round.

Unopposed/Forfeiture bowling: This league will allow unopposed bowling. The opposing team shall be notified when a team is bowling unopposed. Teams must come within (40) pins of their team average, and individual bowlers must come within 10 pins of their average when bowling in a forfeiture situation. There is NO AUTOMATIC Forfeiture.

Disputes or Protests: Will be handled by the League Board of Directors. Protests must be in writing and submitted to the Board of Directors WITHIN TWO WEEKS.
